Can you explain your PhD in the pub?

PubhD (from “Pub” + “PhD”) is monthly event that started up in Nottingham on January 22, 2014.PubhD-Icon

At each event, three PhD students*, from any academic discipline, explain their work to an audience in a pub in exchange for a pint or two. The talks are at a “pub level” – the idea is that you don’t have to be an academic to understand the talks.

PubhD has a very simple format and the idea is spreading to other cities.

If you are interested in becoming a speaker at a PubhD event, please get in touch.

If you are interested in hearing talks at PubhD Nottingham, keep an eye on the Next Event page, join the PubhD Facebook group and follow us on Twitter @_PubhD. For other cities, check out the PubhD Locations page

*PhD, EngD and EdD students, lecturers/professors, post-docs, etc. Basically, anyone doing research that they’d like to talk about!
